Scouts (10.5-14)
Scouts are our third section, with a core age range of 10½-14. All our age ranges are flexible, so you may be able to join slightly earlier than 10½. Similarly, if you’re almost fourteen you may be advised to join Explorers instead.
Our Scouts have tried orienteering, archery, circus skills, media skills, climbing and many other activities. It’s in this section that you may have your first international experience, meeting and working with Scouts from elsewhere in the world. In the past, South Angus Scouts have been to Gibraltar, France and Denmark, as well as events like the Jamboree on the Internet – during which they have spoken with overseas Scouts over the internet.
You’ll also be part of the programme planning, with some troop meetings devoted to deciding what skills you want to learn or what activities you want to do – information leaders will use to plan the next term’s meetings.
