Adult Volunteers

Not all volunteers wear a uniform. With a range of roles available, you can commit as much or as little time as you want – whether it’s an hour a week or one day a year.

It’s easy to get started – all you need is the get-up-and-go to try it! You already have all the skills you need! Can you muck in with others? Can you step into someone else’s shoes? Do you get back up when you fall? Then volunteering is right for you! Whatever role you choose to fulfil, we’ll always make sure that you are well trained and supported – and offer you opportunities to challenge yourself by learning additional skills.

What will I get out of it?

Volunteering is one of the most rewarding and fun things you can do with your free time. Not only will you watch the young people in your care grow and develop, but you’ll have the opportunity to gain externally recognised qualifications and develop both practical and soft skills with our award winning, adaptable training scheme. In fact, over 90% of Scout volunteers nationally said that the skills they learned through volunteering have helped them in their work or personal lives.

Scout Network

If you’re under 25, you can also join Network, our fifth section. Here you’ll be able to share ideas with other volunteers and get additional support for your training. You’ll also be able to work on a number of projects with other Network members across the country and be a part of national and international events.
