About us

We support young people to develop skills for life by encouraging them to face challenges head on, make everything an adventure and learn by doing.

Who We Are

We’re Scouts and everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Every week we help people aged 6-25 – and beyond – develop the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and a better world.

What We Do

As Scouts, we help young people to do more, learn more and be more by supporting them to develop skills for life. Our young people learn to work under their own steam, see the world from another’s point of view, and think on their feet. All skills which will help them become their own person and make the world a better place.
Scouts take part in a varied programme – from hillwalking to baking, from camping to coding, from rock climbing to public speaking. Kayaking, engineering, DIY, international experiences, first aid – they’re all part of the Scout experience.

Our Values

Our values define who we are and guide what we do. They are:
Integrity – We’re honest, we try to do the right thing (even if no-one’s watching), and we stay true to ourselves.
Respect – We’re thoughtful of people’s feelings and values, treating everyone as we’d like to be treated ourselves.
Care – We’re kind to others, and look after the world we live in.
Belief – We explore our beliefs and attitudes with open minds
Co-operation – We work with others to change the world for the better, making friends along the way.
