Cub Scouts (8-10.5)

Cubs are our second section, with a core age range of 8-10½. This age range is flexible, so you could join Cubs shortly before your eighth birthday. Similarly, if you’re already ten, you may want to consider joining Scouts instead.

Being a Cub is a fun and rewarding way to spend your time. You’ll make new friends, learn new skills and take part in a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including hiking, cooking, clay modelling and camping. Our programme is balanced such that you will spend about half your time inside and half outside, with badges to be earned for completing certain tasks. If you earn enough badges, you could be awarded the Chief Scout’s Silver Award – the highest award in Cub Scouts. With our youth led approach, you’ll decide what activities you do! You’ll take part in pack forums – deciding with the other Cubs what you want to do and helping the leaders plan the next term.
